Is there a rule book out there with the dos and dont's for playing in RCSC? I ask because a female player on my team recently had her ears peirced and was not allowed to play in the game. Had her parent's known that RCSC would not allow her to play, I'm sure that they would of held out on getting her ears peirced. I don't know the amount of time for the hole in your ear to heal after getting it peirced but I'm sure if the child removes her earings it's going to cause pain when the time comes to put the earings back in. Is there anything that the parents can do to allow their daughter to finish out the season without having to remove the earings and taking a chance of having the holes close up causing the child pain each time the attempt to put the peircings back in? I offered to loan the child a protec helmet to cover her ears but I was turned down.
Also what is the deal about kids not allowed to have sweatbands on their arms during the games? My son has been playing soccer for the past 5yrs and this is the first time I heard of such a rule.
Thanks!

The earring issue is not a RCSC rule, it's part of the general youth soccer rules that RCSC follows. The reason for this rule is that a direct impact to the child's ear from a soccer ball can cause the back of the earring to be pushed through the skin on the side of the head. Also some hair bows are required to be removed as well as necklaces and watches.

yes there are some issues, thank goodness we have a coaches and ref meeting tonight. We will clear up as many as we can so everyone is on the same page as far a rules goes. I am sorry for the earings, but that is enforced in all soccer games rec or pro. I think you will see everyone on the same page after tonight.

Copy all. The coach handed out a Q&A sheet tonight as well and talked about the earing issue. Thanks for the input!
