I have tried to do the research ahead of time to ensure that the team we decided to enter in the tournament was in fact a legal team.
I met with Todd Hughes, the Parks and Recreation Director for the city of Phenix City in person, and was told concerning including Ranger players on our roster that "it may not be questioned, but you should not have travel players on your roster. This is a rec tournament"
The U-12 Age Group Coordinator, Brandi Ford informed me that I should not put any Ranger players on my roster, this tournament is for rec kids only.
I spoke with Robert shellhouse, the Tournament Director about the issue, and was told that I shouldnt have any trouble with travel players on my roster, but he couldnt guarantee that if we make it to the next level of play. Make your own decision was his final response.
I then contacted Dennis Jones, Board Member, and he said that he could not find in the rules where it said travel players could or could not play rec tournaments. So, make your own decision.
A unanimous decision was made by parents, myself, Coach Joiner, and Doach Dexter to not take the chance on breaking any rules or jeapordizing the legitimacy of the team.

Why are the sand bags so heavy? And could they not have used some lighter wood for the benches. They make great ball holders.

I wish we had some orange construction net along the road to stop the balls from rolling into the woods.

NOW THAT IS A GREAT IDEA, ORANGE NETTING. I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT THAT. MAY TAKE A DAY OR TWO.
