That is great that there will be tournaments on Nov. 8th! Quick question though, did you mean starting at the U6 level, or the U8 level? I think there might be a typo describing the tournaments beginning age level.... Also, will the double header Game times that were moved from Nov 8th to the 15th remain the same? Thanks so much in advance for your help!

I know we talked today, but for those who have the same question. This tournament is part of the Parks & Rec Association and they run their age levels as U7,U9,U11,U13 and so on. We just received the guidelines this week and the Director of Coaching is reading through them. What I know at this point is that the format will be 11v11. The roster will probable carry 18 players. Other than that, we will have to wait a couple of more days for more info. We hope to have some info up on the website in the near future. In the mean time, we encourage anyone who wants to participate to begin getting teams together. We would like to have several teams in each age group if it is at all possible. This would be a great opportunity for different teams to get to go work together as one.

On the double header games, times should remain the same for all U6 & U8 teams. We will only be shifting the dates. There are a couple of minor changes with a couple of U10 & U12 teams, but most of those team coaches' should be aware that they are changing. All revised schedules will be posted in the near future.

ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS, COACHES AND PARENTS THAT WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NOV.8TH TOURNEY. THIS IS THE BEST CHANCE FOR REC PLAYERS TO EXPERIENCE PLAYING TEAMS FROM OTHER CITIES. PARENTS I ENCOURAGE YOU AND YOUR COACHES TO GET ON BOARD AND GIVE YOUR CHILD AND TEAM A CHANCE TO PLAY FOR A TROPHY AND BRAGGING RIGHTS. THERE IS A LITTLE WORK AND A TIME ISSUE TO OVERCOME BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT IF YOU TRY THIS YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID. YOUR TEAM AND CHILD WILL NEVER FORGET THEIR FIRST DISTRICT TOURNAMENT WIN. COME BE A PART OF SHOWING OFF WHAT THE YOUTH OF RIVER CITY HAS TO OFFER COMPARED TO OTHER PROGRAMS ACROSS THE STATE. IT WILL BE SEVERAL YEARS BY THE TIME THE OPPORTUNITY COMES BACK AROUND TO HOST IT HERE. DON'T MISS OUT. ALL THE FORMS AND NEEDED INFO WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLINE LATER TODAY.

Is anyone putting together a U9 team for the Nov. 8 tournament? We have a couple of players from our U10 team that might be interested in playing.

I have heard from 5 players that want to play in the U9 division in the tournament. Is there anyone willing to coach this age group?

November 15th is our double header day so what is that going to do to the schedule if teams advance and have to go play in Dothan? My team has a bye the week of the 22nd but I will be in Atlanta that weekend for Rangers and won't be able to coach my team if they get one of their games pushed back another week.

The rosters have been turned into state officials. We can no longer add names. Thank you to everyone that responded.
