Just had a question about the rules regarding how much playing time the kids are supposed get. I watched a U10 game today, where one of the teams kept 4 or 5 of their players in for almost the entire game, while 3 of their players only played for about 5 minutes. The rules, as I understand it, are ALL kids are supposed to play 50% of the game. This should be very easy to accomplish when you only have 9 players on your team, as they did.
The team they were playing had 11 kids and their coach substituted as the rules specify, playing each kid about half the game, which with 11 players is about half the game for all of the kids.
The game was pretty close, but the team that did not substitute by the rules won the game. As a matter of fact they have won every game by a combined score of 50-5!!!
Its not fair for those kids sitting the bench and its not fair for the coaches who are playing by the rules.I just think if you have a rule it needs to be enforced or at least someone needs to talk to the coach about it. We talked to the coach about his substituting or lack there of after the game, and he just said to us (with his players present)"we won didn't we".
It seems like winning is coming before the kids having fun and I don't think that is the type of atmosphere we want to create in this league.

you are correct, in Division 4 Recreational Soccer all players are suppose to play 50% of the game except for injury or behavior. Attention ALl Coaches : please play your players 50% as they are entitled to play the GAME like everyone else. RCSC President

You can complain all you want about this but I
tell you it won't do a bit of good. I too watched
this game and Sanchez did not sub at all in the
first half. My question is why do they only have 9
players? It would be easy to win every game for any
coach with nine average players. That is no challenge.
Anyway, I believe the Price team will win next time
around. You guys have a very good team defense. So

You are probably right, but it sure felt good to vent!! Good Luck to your team also. It sure would be nice to have a Price vs Smith Final!!!!
