We seem to have a little issue with how to substitute. Here is the law right out of the book. Law 3 states.

"To replace a player with a substitute, the following conditions must be
observed:
• the referee must be informed before any proposed substitution is made
• the substitute only enters the fi eld of play after the player being replaced has left and after receiving a signal from the referee
• the substitute only enters the fi eld of play at the halfway line and during a stoppage in the match
• the substitution is completed when a substitute enters the field of play
• from that moment, the substitute becomes a player and the player he has replaced becomes a substituted player
• the substituted player takes no further part in the match
• all substitutes are subject to the authority and jurisdiction of the referee, whether called upon to play or not"

In addition substitutions are allowed on any goal kick, on any kick off, and when your team has been awarded a throw in.

There has been concern over the "the substituted player takes no further part in the match" among some of the coaches. According to the RCSC Modified Laws of the Game there are unlimited substitutions. I interpret this to mean that the modified law supersedes the FIFA law and that substituted players are allowed to re-enter the game assuming that the procedural guidelines outlined by Law 3 are otherwise followed. Correct? Thanks.

Yes, you are correct about the unlimited subs. Only in professional and higher level mathches will you see the FIFA law used. Also, as Mr. Stadler has pointed out, coaches need to use the proper protocol for substituting players.
