My Fellow Soccer Fans,
I think it is time that the concession stand gain club attention and become a priority to all of us who are involved in this fast growing club.
Each week teams are assigned to work for about an hour, which is a good thing and all of you are to be commended on a good job done this season. But still, there is a lot involved in the running and upkeep of the week to week privelge in having a concession stand.
Our concessions stand provides not only refreshments and substinance, but also provides the pay to our referees, which saves us from having to dip into our bank account.
This is a lot of responsibility, and as my child grows older and out of this league, I feel it is time that I phase myself out of this responsibility.
I am proposing that beginning next season, Fall 2007, that there be a committee to insure that the concessions remain a good source of help to this fast paced soccer club. Essentially, there needs to be a group responsible for this week to week operation, and relieve the board members of having to actually run it. It is no different from any other sports affiliation that anyone is involved with.
The tasking is simply, shop for what is needed in the stand, setting it up for the parents to run, and also closing it up after games, insuring that it is clean so that other clubs can use it when needed.
I am asking that you parents step up and volunteer to become a member of this committee, so that so much responsibilty does not fall on any one person. With a committee of involved parents, the time for each would be minimal, and we could still have a smooth running concession stand.
Contact me at LB100457@ aol.com, and let's get started on forming this committee before the next season leaps up on us. Remember, this is an asset for River City Soccer Club, and we really need to keep it running and operational.

GREAT, I WAS AFRAID WE WERE NOT GOING TO HAVE CONCESSIONS THIS SEASON, AND PEOPLE WOULD HAVE TO PAY SOME REF FEES TO COVER THEIR COST. I WILL GET WITH YOU ON SUNDAY OR MONDAY TO TALK ABOUT IT.

I was wandering when U-12 Yellow has concession stand duty this season or where I might find a schedule if there is one.
